A bareboat is simply a boat that is rented without crew and/or sometimes a skipper - you will need to skipper and navigate it yourself. Depending on the country, you will need to show some type of certification/licence or previous boating experience. You can also add a skipper to your bareboat charter if you don't have the necessary qualifications but still want to do a bareboat charter.

This depends on the country you are chartering in, as it differs from place to place. To rent a boat/yacht in Turkey, you are required to have the necessary experience with yachts of similar size, and must hold an approved skipper license. For Turkish Citizens, the minimum required license is Amateur Seaman Certificate. However, if you do not qualify to charter bareboat, you can hire a skipper who will handle the navigation, allowing you to enjoy the trip worry-free.

We can always arrange one for you. A skipper is responsible for the safety of the boat and all the people on board and is also responsible for complying with all the relevant rules and regulations of the host country. He/she will handle the boat for you, recommend routes and give you many local tips. If you do not hold an approved sailing license and/or have enough sailing experience, then this would be recommended as an option. This option allows you to relax with friends and family without worrying about the safety of everyone on board. Just a little note; if you hire a skipper for your charter, please keep in mind that you have to spare a bed for him and provide his meals as well.

Not necessarily but majority of the charter companies will ask you to charter for a week, usually from Saturday to Saturday, especially during high season. You may be able to rent a yacht/boat for less than a week out of high season, depending on the availability of the yacht/boat.

Prior to payment, we will give you a full yacht/boat charter agreement and corresponding proforma invoice that clearly shows how and when the payments should be don. Payments must be received within the specified periods and be made to the designated bank accounts.

All our yacht/boats are thoroughly cleaned and inspected before each charter. You will be presented with a complete list of equipment and inventory (check-list) on board before your charter starts. On your return, the yacht/boat is inspected again with the same list and redelivered in the same conditions it was delivered. You will be briefed by our operational staff about the equipment and inventory of your boat during the delivery of the boat.

All yachts in the Deep Sea Yacht Charter fleet have financial liability insurance against all damages and third parties, with an exemption for the amount of the deposit.

Based on the crew list info provided by the Charterer, it is required to obtain a Transitlog document for each Charter from the Harbour Master. No guests other than the persons specified in the transitlog are allowed to be on the boat throughout the charter period. This official document grants the right to cruise along Turkish territorial waters. Fully completed crew list with name, surname, place of birth, date of birth, nationality, identification number and passport copies and address information should be submitted a week before the charter date to complete the transitlog formalities.

We will provide you the booked yacht/boat; insured, clean, ready to sail, in seaworthy condition and with full fuel tank at the specified start time and place. We will make sure that the yacht/boat papers are in compliance with its flag state requirements. We are also responsible for fulfilling all the necessary organizations for the specified services and charter details. In case the promised services cannot be performed for any reason beyond the control of Deep Sea Yacht Charter, Deep Sea Yacht Charter is obliged to provide an option with the same quality and comfort.

Prior to the embarkation, a refundable deposit is required to cover the possibility of damage to the yacht/boat and/or its equipment including damage caused by the Charterer to a third party. Damages and losses will be offset against the deposit. If the yacht/boat and the equipment are returned free of defects, the deposit will be refunded following the check-out.  The amount of the Security Deposit varies according to the size of the yacht/boat and is blocked from your credit card during embarkation until the boat/yacht is redelivered as specified in the contract.

We do understand things can change last minute which may mean you need to cancel. We try to be as flexible as possible but according to our Cancellation Policy; we can only refund you a certain amount of your payment for cancellations made at least 4 weeks prior to your charter date.  Please keep in mind that for cancellations made less than 4 weeks prior to charter date, no refund is made. The date your written cancellation request was received by our staff will be the date used to determine the cancellation charges.

After receiving your charter request, we will prepare and send the charter contract to you to begin the charter process. During the preparation and sending of your contract, we will reserve the boat/yacht for you. To secure your reservation, you will need to prepay 40% of the charter fee and send the bank receipt along with a copy of the signed contract. The remaining charter fee must be paid 45 days before the embarkation date.

We can always arrange Wi-Fi on all of our boats/yachts for your convenience for an extra fee. Please let us know in advance if you need Wi-Fi during your charter.

Turkey has an exceptionally long season of sailing, extending from April to November, providing ideal sailing conditions and numerous destinations to explore. Along the Turkish Mediterranean coasts, you'll discover historic towns, ancient sites, and natural gems. There are secluded bays and coves where you can safely anchor and relish the turquoise waters. Of course, no sailing trip in Turkey would be complete without indulging in exceptional Turkish cuisine.

Weekly rental periods start at 17:00 on Saturday and end at 17:00 on Friday. The boat/yacht you chartered must return to the agreed port of redelivery at the specified time. Accommodation on the boat until 9:00 on Saturday is also included in the weekly rental agreement.
